Feature Introduction: Manual Search Mode

We're excited to announce a new feature in Highlighty version 2.3.1 that gives you even more control over your browsing experience – Manual Search Mode. This feature was developed in response to user requests, aiming to provide a more customizable and efficient way to highlight content online.
Manual Search Mode: Empowering Users with On-Demand Searching
One of the most frequent requests we received was for greater flexibility when searching and highlighting text across web pages. Users wanted the ability to disable automatic searches and instead trigger the search function only when needed. Manual Search Mode does just that – allowing you to run searches exclusively when you press the designated hotkey, Shift + F.
How does it work?
With Manual Search Mode enabled, automatic searching is disabled while you navigate through websites or when adding new queries to your list. To perform a search, simply press Shift + F, and the highlighter extension will spring into action, finding and highlighting the terms you’re looking for. This feature is particularly useful when you want to browse freely without the distraction of constant highlighting, making your multi highlight tool even more versatile.
- Open Highlighty
- Click on the Menu dropdown to open the settings page
- Keep it on the Basic tab
- Open the Hotkey feature submenu
- Activate the first option, and use the feature on your preferred pages
- Additionally, please see the key combo set by clicking the cog icon
